One of my last conversations with Joe was that I told him I was changing my surname Bewick to his surname Burn. Joe was happy when I said that.

The first time we saw our God-daughter in Turkey, she was a few months old, she is now 18. I still remember the day when our friend Ibrahim took Joe and I to the village to meet his wife Hatice, and it was a short time after that, Ibrahim said to us, that he and his wife would like us to be God-parents.

Joe loved going on holiday to Hisaronu in Turkey (near Olu Deniz), he was comfortable and relaxed. He enjoyed the sun shining on his face, he loved to walk, he made new friends easily. Whenever we passed by a bar or restaurant, he would usually stop and say hello or give them a friendly wave just to acknowledge them. Joe wasn't a drinker of alcohol as such but he did enjoy having Efes beer, Malibu & Coke, and Guinness. Joe also enjoyed eating fruit pancakes by a friend of ours, and more often than others instead of having 2 bananas in the pancakes, he got 3.

Joe was always there for me, through thick and thin. We were a team until this awful virus sadly took him away from me. I had his back, he had mine, he worried about me, just like I worried about Joe. We had good times and bad, but we helped one another get through those moments no matter what. I will dearly miss my husband, who was also my soulmate, best friend and life partner. Joe will always be in my heart.

We met many years ago , fellow travellers .My mother and I were taken by this kind friendly gentleman.He and Barbara were good companions on day trips and sometime evenings in Lanzarote... comfortable in each other's company ,passing many happy hours . The memories stayed with us over the years,providing thoughts of happy, sunny days . Joe was the kind of man ...you got what you saw ..no pretence...an honest ,open heart ..made you feel ..here was a friend ....someone you would never forget . God bless Joe

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
